National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) confirmed that there is water on Mars. Although the water flowing on the planet is very salty, the chances of life beyond Earth increases.
"The presence of even very salty water, giving the possibility of life on Mars, we (humans) have an idea of the chances of survival there," said adminitrator association for the Science Mission Directorate at NASA, John Grunsfeld, reported CNN.
Water found in the photo is of a high resolution camera on the Mars Reconnaissance orbiter Rover. Visible light waves dark stripes on the surface of Mars, and long lines were allegedly running water.
Lujendra Ojha, he is a doctoral student in Georgia Tech who first discovered the dark lines, which at that time he was still a graduate student at the University of Arizona in 2011.
Although it is not certain from where the water was coming, but the current theory states that the water due to ice melting of the ice surface in the thin Martian atmosphere. Michale Meyer, a scientist for NASA's Mars Exploration Program said that the phenomenon is a mystery in the investigation of the Red Planet next.
The findings have been published in the European Planetary Science Congress, France, last weekend.
Actually, Mars has been known to have signs of water. As the findings of the Mars Curiosity Rover, on the pole has a thin atmosphere there is ice, there is a small puddle seasonal at night on the planet.
"The conditions are more convincing (Mars) for livable compared with estimates sebelunya," said researcher Mary Beth Wilhelm. "Eligibility for occupancy also depends on how big the levels of salt contained in the water looking for it, as well as the planet's temperature. The temperature (on Mars) is very cool to pierce the bone," said Wilhelm.
Director of planetary science at NASA, Jim Green, called the discovery a perfect position to find another life other than on Earth, but NASA has not been able to answer and make sure the big question.
"However, water is the most important element in human life, we have a great opportunity to be exact location on Mars," he continued.
