Under the leadership of Ridwan Kamil as Mayor, Bandung continues to show increasing performance. Now, the capital of West Java was included in the ranks 47 cities creative versions of Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, the United Nations (Unesco) worldwide.
Unesco announced new members to the 47 cities around the world which is expressed as a creative city. From dozens of cities, tucked name of Bandung as the World Design City.
There are seven categories to enter into a creative city by Unesco membership, namely creative cities category Crafts and Traditional Arts, Design, Film, Gatronomy, Literature, Media Arts and Music.

"Yes. After three years of fighting, yesterday Bandung was awarded the United Nations as a City of Design World, joined by the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. Residents of Bandung, let's make an interesting fashion, visual communication, architecture, building, interior and public spaces we design progressive . Mangprang !," wrote Emil Kang quoted on her Instragram account, Monday, December 14, 2015.

Previously, Bandung also entered the six best cities around the world about the implementation of the Smart City program. Bandung was aligned with Buenos Aires (Argentina), Curitiba (Brazil), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Moscow (Russia) and Peterborough (UK).
The award comes on the mat Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona.
